Open Office should be able to save the file in the Microsoft proprietary formats. Just check the Save As option and you should be set.

Open Office is compatible with Microsoft, hence so many people now using it, but if you save your document in Microsoft format, Save As and change the type, you will have no problem. Alternatively saving a document as either rtf or txt would enable it to be opened in any word processing application, but you would possibly lose formatting if you had done anything like tables or the like.

Save the file in the microsoft word format then it should work. Go to save as and click the box below the area where you type in the file name and select microsoft word 97/2000/XP (.doc). You may also want to save another one in the default openoffice format. Hope this works!

P.S. You may want to go to school early or try it the day before in case it doesnt work. If it doesnt work check with the computer technician at your school.

save the file as RTF (rich text format) and it should open on any word processor.

however you may need to change font styles etc... once in school...
