Seriously, would it be so hard for them to add muzak on hold to their phone system?

I could have sworn it was Nutcracker, which is pretty bizarre in, say, August. But the title is appropriate if it's a balance due issue.

Keep in mind, it will always be OLD music. They aren't going to pay any royalties.

I have spent a total of many hours on hold with the IRS over the past 2 decades; I can assure you speakerphones are very handy in that regard. You can work on something else while waiting for a human to pick up.

That being said, I would have to disagree that the music never changes. The most efficient conversation I've ever had with an IRS rep occured after the hold-music, oddly enough, was Orpheus in Hades (the music commonly associated with French can-can dancers). I think that was about 4 years ago.

Because changing it would probably take an act of Congress and they wouldn't be able to agree. The Democrats would want something from the 2000s and Republicans would want something from the 1950s because that is where they are trying to take us.

Bush has suggested "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton for obvious reasons.

because they have to power to make u listen to that crap and there is nothing you can do to stop them
