Not sure if thats what it is called.. lol I just got a call from my husband at work saying he is having a pot luck tomorrow at work. I have never heard of such a thing before so i need some easy ideas. Doesn't matter about ingredients i can go to the store. Please nothing complicated. I am guessing he has about 30 people to feed. Thanks in advance.

A pot luck is when people get together and everyone brings one dish that everyone then shares. I suggest making whatever your trademark recipe is, or whatever you think you make best.

Here's what I'm always asked to bring:

Broccoli and Cheese

1 pound of Velveeta Cheese
1 Lg bag of frozen cut-up broccoli
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Crumbled Ritz crackers as a topping

Cut the Velveeta into cubes. Put the broccoli and soup in a large glass baking dish and mix. Put the cheese cubes in the pan after mixing the broccoli and soup. Crumble Ritz on top. Cover with a lid or foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until all cheese is melted and bubbly. Rich good food that sits out well.

You should ask him if there is a list of what others are bringing. That way you can get an idea of what others are bringing and what you should make. There has to be a list, because what if 30 people all brought greenbean casserole? Pretty boring pot luck.

You dont make enough of your dish to feed 30 people though!!Everyone brings a large casserole dish of a entree or a salad or dessert and there will be others bringing their share too so a pot of chili, stew,a lasagna or tarts, squares, cookies or if you make a great potato, macaroni or ceaser salad will suffice.Ask your husband if there's a list of what certain people are being asked to bring and what his contribution is supposed to be.

You want easy ideas? Just go to the grocery store and pick up a fruit tray or veggie tray. No cooking necessary. Tortilla chips and spinach dip or salsa are easy too!
Good luck!

Green Bean Casserole is always good! Here is a link to the recipe.. Its really easy and really yummy! You can even make it in one of those disposable foil pans so you don't have to worry about getting your dish back! :o)

Put together a fruit platter with mandarin oranges, kiwis, some melon chunks and a pineapple cut up and served in it's shell. Maybe some grapes if the stems look green. Fresh fruit is always welcome and you can make it look very pretty.
