The saying is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and you know that your boyfriend is beautiful to you.Your friend needs to just get over herself on this issue as maybe her boyfriend will be abusive and only your boyfriend will be able to save her. Everyone has a different looks and characteristics that attract them and your criteria is valid. If you feel he is not ugly, then I would be inclined to agree with you. Everyone said Julia Roberts first Husband was ug-lee but I never saw that as I saw an extremely talented and sincere man when looking at Lyle Lovett. Tell you girlfriend that your bf kept the stick and he hits back.

There are lots of ugly people in the world. They have to get together with someone, right? No, seriously, beauty (and ugly) is in the eye of the beholder. Love sees the real beauty in a person that comes from within. Go with your heart and forget your superficial friends' opinions.

If they were the same age, would she go for Leo DiCaprio or Mel Gibson? If she'd go for Leo and you for Mel, then obviously she likes pretty boys and you like manly men.
I disagree with my friends tastes in women, which is often handy when we go out. If we were both chasing the same lady, my friends would be competition, but since we like different types of women, we are usually teammates or partners, helping each other find someone great.

looks are not everything beleive me on that one. I always had pretty boyfriends until a year ago and i met a guy who was maybe not gorgeous but he made me laugh and we had a real connection, that was more important to me than looks. Its important to find your partner attractive but that does not mean they have to be physically beautiful. To be honest its all opinion anyway, what you may find attractive and what your friend will find attractive can be totally different. I just hope that you rise above your friends comment and just follow your own instincts and feelings. If your friend mentions it again just tell her you feel offended by her comments about someone you care about. good luck

That's really mean, I hate people who are nasty like that. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You may see your friend date some guy that you think is nothing special.
We all like different things.
I remember saying to one of my friends recently that I really liked this girl who was in the canteen and he said she was well ugly, but it made no difference to how much I liked her.
Forget other people's opinions, its what you think that counts!
