Curiosity is part of human nature, but one has to decide for themselves what is best for them. The problem is that one may think that they want to know, but actually following through may not be the best decision. I know this from personal experience. I helped a friend of my sister find her birth mom. The friend was 46 years old with two kids of her own and swore up and down that this is what she needed to have closure in her life. I found the mother after an exhaustive search and they met eachother. Later, my sister told me that her friend simply couldn't handle all of the emotion and was devastated about meeting her mother.

Every case is different; however, I think it should be up to the adoptee themselves to find their birth parents, not the other way around. Even then, I would recommend counseling to deal with the deep emotion that being given up for adoption brings.

I know that you made the best decision you could for your kids and for that you deserve a big thumbs up and a hug for giving them up and giving them a chance at a good life rather than other harsh alternatives. Hold your head high
and take care.

If I found out I was adopted. I would probably want to find out who my real mother is. I would have alot of questions.
It depends on how they are raised and if they're ever told.
My mother was adopted and she knew from an early age. When she became an adult she didn't how to go about finding her mother. It can also depend on wheather or not adoption records are opened or closed. Sometimes you can never find your real parents. It took several years, my mother was born in 57 and met her mother in 95.

I am adopted and found my birth parents. I have never referred to them as my "real" parents since the parents who raised me are in my heard/mind my real parents. I went to adoption agency at age 18, they helped me find my birth mom. We met, I found I had a natural sister 3 years younger than me. She gave me the dads name, I looked him up and met him as well. We correspond thru yearly xmas cards only. I'm glad I met them, it filled a void I had felt growing up. I wanted to know what they looked like. And now as an adult, it's good to know some medical history. And also I have understood for a long time now why I was given up - she was just 15. While they are not my family, I will forever be grateful that she chose to give me a life.

Well, if I was adopted, I would want to find my real mother, just to see what kind of person she is and probably ask some questions that would put my mind at ease.

Sure thing. That will explain how I react they way I do and the things that I do. I definately must have taken them from my parents. I'd also want to know if I looked like her.

well, it's a good thing if you want to find them. they may have mixed feelings about you cause you gave them up! If they found out that you want to find them, and you gave them up for a reason..(good enough) then I am sure they would love to see you too...

Let it go.
