Yeah, I learned my art of computer gibble-gabble back in the old DOS days using an IBM PC with a whopping 128 K ram, a 5.25 inch floppy and no hard drive! And BASIC was the best known programming language. When Windows first came out, it sucked so much, I kept using DOS. Finally, Windows improved and proved a much superior system. At any rate, Bill Gaites created both making him the richest dude in the world! I still remember my first DOS, DOS 2.0! Now that's back in the "dark ages" of personal computers!
This gives a clue as to how old I am!

Yes, I still use DOS to some extent. Not nearly as much as when I was doing FoxPro for MS-DOS back in the early 90's. Most of the time now I'm using DOS as a pass through to telnet to my Solaris boxes. For Linux, I'll just use Putty.

Well!

I know how to use DOS!!

but not because i "remember" I just learned it one time.. ya gotta know to do reformatting/diagnostics,etc.

But i think the ultimate question is.. "do you remember BEFORE dos" haha

I have a Mattel Aquarious with 4KB of Ram, no harddrive space.. you have to use a tape recorder and a cassette tape to save anything!!

and i really dont think it's "showing my age" at all.

'cuz i'm 19.. eheh ^^ super geek~

You kinda have to, to know how to use the terminal in Linux. The first PC I owned had MS-DOS, but it was already out of date. (Windows 98 was already out) Plus I use DOSBOX a lot.

That's it... 'DOS'. My new workplace still uses a database like the DOS set up. All prompts and commands and oh my god, I'm so happy windows came along! I can't stand it!
