ONce again, as usual, we are in agreement.
Yes, I fear God, all true born again Christians will fear God . But its not liek the world thinks it means.
Fear of God is AWE of God, we know who God is and that He is God. We are not God, but we can be one with Him thru Jesus Christ, connected by the Spirit of God, to do all God calls us to do.
But, because we do know and love God, we are in awe of Him as we know only He knows what is right and He has the power to do as He sees fit. God is a loving, God, forgiving God and will work with us patiently as He tries to draw us near to Him and to do this HIS way and not our own, becuse Only His way works and we are blessed by folloing GOd, with the full teachings of JEsus Christ. WHen we dont obey God, we are sinning, and we are seperated from God during that time, and we wont hear form Him clearly, it is the devil we hear, and the longer one stays in that condition, the harder is is to come back to God. Sin leads to curse and death. Obedience leads to blessings and life eternal.
Awe is surely respect and reverance, trust, love, all of it.
IF we love God and trust Him, we will do things His way and count it all as Joy , knowing only He does best, and we will want to live the right way, and be happy and leadin gothers to Hm as well. IF we dont tell them, how will they know. ??? And if we dont bring a transformed life, what do we have to bring them/ THe power of the gospel is our testimony.
We show it can be done, so they will know it can be done. Truly bring them Jesus.
God does have a covenant with us and He isnt going to break it. But, ppl can walk away from God and break their covenant. Only those truly born again, and remember God knows the heart, will never walk away from God.
God says we will know them by their fruits, actions..
So when you see someone that lives a life not along the lines of what God says, they arent born again. But we arent to judge them or condemn them. WE are to tell them truth, in love but without fear or compromise, to try and restore them back to the right relationshp with God. We judge the sin, not the sinner.
When one truly has trust and reverance for God and true love, they will do all God commands them to do, or they arent truly of God.
Lets pray that all will come to know the true FEar of God and do as God commands them to do. We cant earn our way into Heaven NOPE. But faith without works is dead. WE obey God because He loves ua and we love Him and we KNOW only His way works for us and for those around us.
We dont want anyone lost, anymore than God does.
I count it all as joy to know, love and fear God with the full respect and reverence He deserves. HE sent Jesus to die for us. How can we give Him anyless than our ALL, jsut liek He gives it to us????
How can anyone say NO to this man???????????????????????
Celebrate JEsus the true way this year, by truly being HIS.
God bless you.

I do not fear Sky Daddy, the god-man, nor the unholy ghost. They don't exist except in your delusional mind. Do you think quoting chapter and verse of your holy book will make you appear to be intelligent? I've got news for you...but you don't want to hear it.
Any god that wanted me to fear him and worship him is not a god I want any part of. Who would want a slave/master relationship in this day and age?
Full Gospel Shirley: So when did "fear" mean "awe?" If that's not what scripture meant, then why hasn't it been revised to substitute "awe" for "fear" wherever it may be found in the Bible? After all, the Bible has been revised numereous times. Why do you personally, and may I say, very conveniently, give us a different meaning to a word because it has a negative connotation - unlike "awe" which is more positive? That's just plain dishonest, Ms. Shirley.

Believers are not to be “scared” of God. We have no reason to be scared of Him. We have His promise that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We have His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Fearing God means having such a reverence for Him, that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. The fear of God is respecting Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe.

i think of that the rationalization that many Christians concern God is the effects of indoctrination from an extremely youthful age. My mom, even if intellectually confident that there's no God, confessed to me that she nevertheless feels responsible and nervous each and every now and then. She became into raised in a devoutly Catholic relatives, and that i think that the repeated threats of eternal damnation and hellfire that would result from even minor "sins" left an eternal mark on her psyche. i think that many Christians adventure an identical result.

The word ‘fear’ in the Bible, when used in reference to ‘fearing’ God, does not mean the same thing as our modern day use of the word. When we are to ‘fear’ God, it is not the same as fearing a tyrant or monster. “Fearing” God is more like, extreme humble reverence for the One by whom all things consist.

The Bible says that the FEAR of GOD is the beginning of wisdom. But that is not what should motivate us as Christians.
Jesus said: If you love me you will keep my commandments.
We should do what we should do. And we should do it because we love the Lord.

Is love that's based on fear actually "love"?
If you do something only because you're afraid of what will happen if you don't, is that actually "free will"?
Personally I think it's sad that so many people base their relationship with the Divine on feelings of fear and unworthiness. To live life fearing that you're "not worthy" of your Divinity's reward, as "June Smiles" admits.
I also think it's sad that so many people try to please the Divine because they don't want to piss the Divine off and have it come swinging at them in punishment - that he has the ability (if he chose) to kill your children if you don't obey him, as "Not Socialized" put it.

The word fear has more than one definition, it not allways means an emotional response to tangible and realistic dangers.
