The last 3 weeks. I try to fall asleep but my calves feel like I need to stretch. It is awful I have the feeling in them to stretch and I keep stretching them but nothing helps. It has cost me and my boyfriend countless hours of sleep. Ive tried Restless Legs, Bengay, and even Sleeping Pills. I have no insurance coverage. Do I have a vitamin or mineral problem? If so what am I lacking? Please someone help I need to sleep again.

Try increasing your potassium unless you have a health reason (kidney disease being one) why you shouldn't. Watermelon has more potassium than bananas but both are good. Also make sure you are drinking enough water. Old shoes can be another reason for leg issues, or if you work many hours on your feet consider changing shoes part way through your time at work. Been there, done that.... Good luck.

Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is something that runs in my family. I've had it for over 20 years. The ONLY drug (and it's not expensive) that I can tolerate, and brings consistent relief is Klonopin. I've tried everything else, even the new drugs specifically designed for RLS. They all left me feeling sick to my stomach. What I do when it's especially bad is to lay on my side with my knees bent. I flex my feet up & down, quickly. I point my toes up as far as I can, then down as far as I can. I do this for 5-15 minutes. Essencially, I'm exhausting my muscles, which feels much better than the awful feeling you described. I don't know about you, but the products on the market (Nyquil, Benedryl, etc.) which typically make you drowsey cause my RLS to worsen, extending into my arms and abdomen. Not fun. I recommend staying away from anything that is over-the-counter for sleep, or states "may cause drowsiness." Those chemicals actually will just make it worse. Consult a doctor who knows about RLS. In the mean time, try taking a vitamin containing iron. It has been proven that low iron levels increase the occurance of RLS.
Best of luck!

It sounds like restless leg syndrome to me.

Try taking vitamin B supplements and potassium. Or you might even try taking milk thistle capsules: Some research suggests that that might help, and it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Good luck!

Not restless leg syndrome. When you have it, it keeps you awake because it constantly jerks your legs (as in when dogs sleeping are running in place).

Sounds like a good exercise stretch regimen would help you to sleep again.
