I would call the court, and see if the citation is waiverable. If you are bot going to contest the citation, then just mail the fine in with your copy of the citation. If you are contesting the citation, then don't pay anything until your trial is over.

Normally, you can just pay the fine and a "No Contest" plea is entered. But for a 30+ violation may be a mandatory appearance in Court. Double check your copy of the citation and the back side especially! The Court information is usually on the front and instructions on what to do are printed on the back of your copy.

You only pay if you are pleading guilty and not contest the charge. However, these are usually reserved for minor infraction (like going 15 or slower above speed limit). You were charged with going 30mph above speed limit and in many states, you are REQUIRED to go to court. In that case, you have to go and listen to the judge. S/he will tell you how much you have to pay then and you will know when is the deadline to pay it.

Sometimes you can pay before, just to get it out of the way, and that's if court appearance isn't mandatory. You were going 30mph over the limit so you will probably have to show up, judge will ask your plea, you say guilty, then he'll ask if you can can take care of that that day. If not, then he will send you to someone to set up a payment date........and slow down.

if you pay, you dont have to appear in court unless you plan on having a good argument to get out of it or if your state has the point system which affects your insurance rates. If you just plan on paying it then do so and thats final.

If you want to plead guilty and pay the fine and not have to go to court, you pay before. If you want to contest the ticket, you go to court and if found guilty (and you will be) you pay after.

but in a speeding case your going to be found quilty and you'll have to pay the fine onto of court costs. So it would be easier to pay the fine , then try and fight and end up having to pay more.

You only have to pay if you are pleading guilty. If you want to fight the ticket, then go to court and do not pay the ticket first. Once you pay the ticket, you are admitting guilt.

if you pay it before the court date then you don't have to go to court

before if you're not going to go to the courthouse and plea not guilty..

if you do plea not guilty they will set a trial date and that's when you'll have to pay, but it will be much harsher if you're found guilty there
