I have a bird sanctuary on my property. 7 bluebird boxes, and many other bird houses. My trees had plenty of nests with baby birds chirping. All of the birds lived here in peace for years until the crows came to distroy all the nests, steal the eggs, kill the baby birds. I've done everything I can to stop it! My bird house have extended roofs so predators can't get in to take the eggs. But once the fledglings are ready to leave the box, the crows wait. Last year I watched the parent blue birds screaming and chasing the crows trying to get their chicks back. It was heart breaking. I've watched the crows taking the song bird babies from the trees only to kill them. This week I've watched them fly by with eggs only to drop them on the driveway or in the lake. I'm an animal lover, but something has to be done! They remind me of the rioters burning and looting Baltimore! What can I do?

Im not sure where this finally ended nor how it turned out. However, I have a small farm and have just more than doubled the amount of chickens we have. The number went from 9 to 34. I got to noticing some of my chickens were gone. I just thought maybe they were gettting out and running for the woods. I set up cameras after about six took to being gone. It was crows!! And no matter what I've done I cant get rid of of. I have a trap for big animals (Fox, Coyotes, cats ets....) Im gonna try that today and see if I can catch some of em. If I can..... Im gonna put them in another chicken pen. The bastards!!

Call a local falconer. But do check on local laws concerning scavanging birds as in some areas, unless you are a farmer, you may be violating some type of protective act (Remember the baseball player who was fined for killing a seagull?)
Otherwise I would suggest a .22 with either bird loads or CB loads, sling shot, or crossbow if you have neighbours near you.

The only other thing is to make their roost a place that is not favourable. If it is in some trees then put up owls that have motion detectors and screetch when activated. Or pay some local kids with wooden blocks to clack them when they start to come in.
Personally I would use the ten cent cure myself.

There is a wooded area in the back of my apartment with a variety of birds nesting and also squirrels nest. I seen many crows hanging around waiting to snatch the birds eggs and chicks. Many times I ve seen Blue jays chasing the crows, I m sure the crows are trying to snatch their eggs or chicks. Yesterday the crows were watching the squirrels building their nest. I wondering if they will snatch the squirrel babies once they are born when their parents leave the nest to find food? I know it s the way of nature, but it seems so cruel.

A quick note on one of the answers: The fake Owl may scare off most smaller birds but it is actually used to ATTRACT crows by people who hunt them. Crows and Owls are natural enemies due to the Owls habit of feeding on young crows before they learn to fly. If Crows see an owl out in daylight they will call in as many of their buddies as they can and will mob the Owl until it either leaves the area or they kill it.

Even if the law doesn't prohibit it specifically, they could get you for violating hunting regulations or in some jurisdictions, using a weapon for a purpose other than self-defense (illegal in some cities). It's not about crows as much as it is about where and when you can use a weapon.

As another person said crows will not hang around another dead crow. So all you need to do is kill one and hang it up for the others to see.

Here is how you can kill one. Start feeding them popcorn daily. Then get some fishing line and attach a small hook on one end and a brick on the other. Run hook through popcorn. Crow will eat popcorn and will not be able to fly with the brick. If you have a swimming pool put the baited rig on the diving board so Mr. Crow will pull it off and drown him. Otherwise you will need a shovel or something to kill it with.
Then hang that rascal up for his partners to see; no more crows.

Make sure you check local laws about killing crows.

How are you going to kill something that flies without a gun?? I have a mental picture of you running around with a net and beating them to death lol. Seriously just learn to shoot or they'll keep bugging you. Put them in a big stewpot too. Crows are yummy.

We love the song birds AND the woodpeckers. But the crow is a flying muslim. Eating all the other breeds & babies. A satanic bird. Whatever it takes. They must go. Give them a one way ticket back to where they came from.
