best. Why is it when you have a jerk and they treat you like dirt and you know the best option is to toss them on the road, you still miss them? You still only want that person? I'm not in love and was recently treated like sht. I hung up on em and every time I tell someone what happened, their response is the same. Leave him alone, he's a jerk you deserve better...yes, I do but why am I still thinking about him? Why am I hoping he'll call with an apology? Even though right now, I can't think of anything he could possibly say to make me feel better. I dont' think I want him, but...then I guess I do if he keeps popping up in my mind.
Do you think he could be popping in my head cause he's thinking about the situation too? Or is that just wishful thinking? I'm going insane...my mind is my worst enemy right now. Help! Words of wisdom please?

Because people are selfish, every last one of them, no matter how noble or good they like to think they are. When relating with people you give of yourself in time and effort, as well as monetary goods sometimes, and you don't like feeling that it was all for naught or that you didn't receive appropriate compensation for it. So when someone has treated you badly you either stick around in hopes of getting back what you consider to be something sufficient from them (even if it is just them saying "sorry") or you break away from them while pining for something from them that will have you believing it was all worthwhile after all.

So it comes down to you wanting more than you received (whether you deserved it or not) and aren't getting. You have to come to the point where you realize you are investing even more by waiting to receive something from that person. Since that might never happen, then you are simply digging yourself a deeper hole which you desire to have filled. So it is in your best interest to cut your losses and proceed with your life accordingly.

This is a conundrum. Girls/women have a motherly instinct and this draws them towards the a** ho**s of guys. Real love is when you actually care about someone. If they get hurt or if there sad. G/W think that if they stay with them long enough they can change them. In reality most a** ho**s never change. Its a sad fact of life. I think that your need to know if he's alright and if he's thinking about you is was bothering you.

He's bad for you. Your life will be so much better without him. If it takes some hard days until you get him off your mind, then so be it. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Just now it's painful, but it won't be like this for too much longer.

Well, talk to him. Over the phone if you can. Talk about how you feel and how he made you feel. It's hard to leave someone without still thinking about them. You'll get over him soon enough.
