Actually Cuban Communist immigration is illegal, but since we block the Island economically,
We accept some balseros.
Well The sneak with anti-radar card boats..... so when they touch .S soil we take them to a special jail, we interrogate them, and then we grant them a path for residence.

They are allowed to stay with the refugee status and they get get a job. That is if they make it to U.S. soil (Not water or sea).

A refugee is different than a green card holder, who is different than a U.S. citizen. They can work their way towards an eventual citizenship, but it is not automatic.

My brother lives in Florida and they have this problem all the time. He told me that when they hit land then they have the right to stay, thats why the coast guards are always watching the shore because when they get here they have every legal right to get their citizenship. Again I said my brother told me and he's a nobody......meaning he's nopt in government or police department.....he does maintenance work....LOL

The wet feet dry feet policy means that if a Cuban makes it to US land, they are free to remain in the US and later qualify for expedited permanent resident status and US citizenship. Those who don't make it to dry land are returned to Cuba or a third country.
