i hve accer 4170z model laptop.i can't load the windows xp or other windows .only the vista version is work there. but i came to knw that its possible to load the other windows also not only vista.one change or setting have to set up there .so have here any great people who knows the procedure to load other windows without vista.

Assuming you HAVE all the drivers from Acer to run that machine under XP (without which it will not work)
try reading up at www.windowsreinstall.com for help loading windows

Before starting you should go to Acer's support site and download the drivers for your4170z. And put them onto floppy disks or burn them onto a CD.
Then make sure you have an emergency start up disk. reboot the computer and enter the bios. Change the boot order to make your start up disk first. (A drive if you have it on a floppy, D drive if its on a CD) OK now reboot again and it should boot onto the start up disk. Type FORMAT C:\ this will reformat the C drive and erase everything.
Now you are ready to load whatever operating system you desire.

Why can't you load "the" Windows XP or other Windows?

When you have vista installed, you can't load xp without formatting the hard disc.
