I agree.

I can think of examples of things, concepts that I rejected right off the bat because (I realize now) I didn't have the ability to understand them at that time.

But they incubated in my brain for a few years, and all of a sudden exploded with meaning. The concept of God's omniscience vs free will is an example.

So now, when I come up on something I don't understand, I try to resist the temptation to reject it out of hand, and take it in, think about it, analyze it, and see if it eventually makes sense.

It is always easier to reject out of hand as most people do. It is the lazy way to avoid thinking.

The better thing would be to ask questions until we understand.

The thing is, Atheists assume Christians have never examined or questioned their faith. And Christians believe that Atheists have never thought deep and hard about their spiritual well-being.

We all reject things that don't fit into our view, but that doesn't always mean we haven't thought about it good and hard before rejecting it.

If you don't understand, don't simply reject it. Search for the answer and truth, even if it takes forever, only then you will feel satisfied. The result might not be important, but your effort is.

I assume that you're referring to things like the big bang and the theory of evolution. Yes, it is easier to reject facts if you don't care to understand them, but it is certainly not beneficial to you.

yes - the easy options are to reject it or give credit to some supernatural entity. But if you want the real answer you may have to do some research.

Humanity attempts to explain what they don't understand in a supernatural way - hence the creation of religion. That is the easiest path for most.

When I don't understand something I investigate until I get at least some clarity.

Rejecting things leaves you ignorant on that particular thing.

Easier? Yes.

Better? No.

It is better to evaluate the evidence THEN make your decision. Even if it doesn't change your mind, you are now better equipped to defend your original position.
