Turkey is never dry unless you forget the oils you are supposed to marinade it with. I am a southern boy so I love all kinds of fowl, with or without gravy. Of course I have had turkey without gravy, which is delicious in its own right, but if you add the savoury topping, it quadruples the deliciousness. I am not a chef, but as I said to begin with, there are oils that you are supposed to place on the surface of the turkey that keep the juice inside. If the turkey is so dry you have to drink something to get it down, then you didn't do it right.

Have a tasty time :P

I like it dry too, but I must confess I do like to have gravy on the side so I can dip it when the mood takes me.

I guess it comes from having all my meat cooked in gravy when I was a kid. It kind of turns you off of it.

Have a good Christmas, gravy or no gravy!!

We love lot's & lot's of thick gravy with our turkey and lot's & lot's of creamy mashed potatoes.

Well, Mom is 88 now and she only likes a little mayo on hers.
The grandchildren don't like gravy on theirs because they like to pick it up with their fingers.

I always serve the gravy on the side - 2 serving dishes to pass around the table.

When you say dry, I think you mean without a topping just the same way when I say I like my pasta bald I mean no sauces on it just a little olive oil. I didn't take it that you meant dry as shoe leather. I hope I got your meaning right.

I make giblet gravy with my turkey, but it's more for the dressing and or potatoes I serve as well. Plus, my husband loves soaking up gravy with fresh homemade yeast rolls and I can't blame him, it's pretty good.

My mom's turkey is sooooo dry that the only way to get it down is to drench it in gravy.
