It depends on the brand, the cheapie ones that you get in a dollar store will not last as long.

You also get more mileage with votives in a container of some sort, then the wax stays in the glass and keeps the candle lit, instead of melting all over the place.

When you arrange them on the tables, keep them at least a couple inches apart so that the heat from one candle doesn't melt the one next to it.

I always have on hand extra votives in case there is a problem like this that arises. Now you may think that everyone would notice having to change the candle but there is so much going on that you never see the magic of the disappearing and reappearing candle. Do you have a planner or someone who can watch for such problems?

Get slow burn votives and you'll be fine. But you may squeek by with normal votives, thye usually last about 3-4 hours.

We used really really cheap votives, really because I found them on sale, for our wedding. They lasted all night and I still pull some of them out from time to time and am still using them... you'll be fine I'm sure, but I like the suggestion of testing one!!

well you times them both by the LCD over 4 ratio (standard burning formula) then you get it and do yTan/4 (y being the width) then you just go up and ask the shop keeper ... they're bound to know
