Yes, my Matilda always knows when I am upset. She climbs into my arms, and cuddles into my neck. She is always affectionate, but if I am sad, she is very persistant in her attentions. And they say ferals don't tame. She was around for four years before I could even touch her, even though she used to come through the catflap and eat my cats' food. Then just before Christmas 3 years ago, she decided to move indoors. She was always free to do so if she wanted. Now I can't move for her.

Most definitely they can, although I might add like everything there are probably a few out there that can't. Overall most can and not only do they sense it they will react to it. My Dog will nuzzle up next to me and just sleep by me in bed when I'm down If I move She will follow me to the couch or chair and lay at my feet. If I am upset as in mad at something she will steer clear of me and leave me space, until I have cooled off or relaxed. She senses when it right to approach me and cheer me up.

After a stressful day at artwork, you come back abode and locate that your canines had fairly an afternoon himself – at your cost. He took a trip from his potty practise, made mincemeat of your shoes and slobbered throughout that blanket your grandmother knitted for you. You get indignant and your canines delivers the classic hangdog, responsible seem. He is acquainted with you're mad. So does that imply your canines can experience your thoughts? the respond isn't as sparkling. Your reaction made it sparkling you – the %. chief – are disillusioned, and your canines is prepared to assuage you (he in all probability does not be attentive to or care why you're indignant). yet what whilst you're under pressure or unhappy approximately something else, no longer related to your canines? He would experience something is faulty, yet back, would no longer be attentive to why.

Absolutely they can. Dog's don't talk and depend on body language for communication. In my opinion, some dogs communicate better than humans. When you are stressed, the dog knows. When you are sick, the dog knows. When you are crying, the dog knows you are upset. When you are happy, the dog knows. When any of my dogs take ill, I try to be as calm as possible so not to stress them even more.

My dog died a few years ago, but I can deffinantly say that he knew when I was upset, when I lived with my parents the cats also deffinantly knew when I was upset or ill, one would curl up on my lap and the other would settle next to me on the sofa.
Other animals know as well, my hamster knows when I'm upset, scared, ill etc.

Throughout all my life I have had animals, and they all have been able to sense when I am upset. My yellow Lab that I have now is the absolute best at it and he knows just how to comfort me when I am upset. He becomes so devoted, loving and snuggly and if that does not work he becomes a clown and does everything possible to make me laugh.

Without a doubt. They can also tell the difference when you are joking or not. When I growl at my 2 dogs Come here you orrible litle MUTTS, they go mental licking and play-biting and act like puppies. But they hate it if I'm watching fotball on tv and my team is losing, because I shout at the tv. One sits and shakes and the other tries to comfort me by sitting on me. If I am being sick, they fuss round me too.
My dogs might be dopey, but they are not stupid.

Absolutely!
My pair will hide when they've done something they know they shouldn't. And they will try to make me feel better if I am sad. I used to have a cat, too, who would wake me up if I was starting to have nightmares.

I know my dog can. She knows when I am mad, and she usually runs the other way. She knows when I am sad, and she will sit with me while I cry. She is a great dog.
