In all arguments where a Christian is asked about Science, he quotes some phrase from his BOOK.

It's acceptable when the book is infallible and has never been proven wrong - but how do they still act this way when...

1. The book says that the earth is flat - and we know the Earth is round.
2. The book says that God made Adam and Eve ... then goes on to oppose incest. If both are true, they should stop having $ex.
3. The book says that Christ was God and that Judas betrayed Christ. If Christ is God, how did he make this mistake of having Judas in the team. Why did he not protect Judas when he was falling?
4. They say that the Devil is responsible for wooing believers to do wrong. Why does a living God allow this?

I do not deny that there is much wisdom in the Bible and lots to learn from the life of Christ. But refusing to see beyond that may be a bit too much. Isn't this the reason for most of the discord today?

Isn't that how a 'fanatic' is defined?

Dear friends;

I do not mean to insult. It's only a question, why do some of you become so tensed up.

Serving_Lord_Jesus: It was you clergy that put Galileo in the dungeons for proving the earth to be round. The pope apologised two years back. Also - the Bible was not your only religious book. The richest ones were damaged by your clergy during the dark ages. Get your facts right, please.

In all my slander - I have never said anything bad of Christ. I address the people who know not what they know not , yet are sure they know what they do.

When answering a question, we (Christians) use the Holy Bible, the Word of God. That is why you get book, chapter and verse.

It's amazing, the Holy Bible has the answers. However, not everyone reads it.

The Holy Bible does not say the earth is flat. Not sure who mis-informed you but they are wrong.

It is good to oppose incest. I'm not sure why you are opposed to this but it's a good thing to not have sexual relations with family.

Jesus knew who would betray Him. Judas had free will as you and I but chose to follow his greed. He was a part of the plan, the bigger picture. Jesus came to die for our sins. Had Judas decided to not be greedy, then another would have done the deed.

Again, we have free will, we all face temptations but that doesn't mean we don't have the strength to resist them. God always gives us a way out when there is temptation present. It is our choice to take the way out...or give in. The devil doesn't make me do it...If I give into temptation, it's my fault.

The discord today is not all want to follow God but want to do their own thing.

We were created to be in relationship. Relationship with God first and then with others. Until we get our relationship with the Lord right...the others will have discord.

Hope that helps!

i don´t always do that.

1. yes, we know the earth is round, Columbus proved that.

2. good point, but that was way too early, the blood lines were pure, no diseases yet. now a day, with as many problems as there are, its best if you don´t marry your brother or sister.

3. we each make our choices, Jesus gave Judas a chance to be good. do you remember the roman soldier? the one who´s ear got cut off, and Jesus healed it...he did not want to take Jesus in to custody. i believe that soldier will be in heaven.

4. the devil only provides solutions to your desires, its your choice if you do wrong.

see, no chapter or verse of the bible added :)

If people share an authority, then appeal to that authority is appropriate. It seems to me that R/S might well be subdivided, though many people seem to like aggravating others, which is not good. All of Scripture must be seen in context. When things were very good (long ago) and we did not have mineral deficiencies, then avoiding marrying near of kin was less important than it later became. (Why is that tricky?)

Your essay reveals a lack of the spiritual understanding the Bible offers. You have read at least some of the scriptures, but this is not an ordinary text. Prayerful study, not cursory reading, will provide the answers you seek, if you are truly seeking answers. If you ask the question only to challenge, no knowledge will be gained.

If you are a follower of a 'Faith'
you do honestly believe whatever is written
If you don't and start asking 'questions'
you are not 'Faith-full'

Thus you have to Quote from the 'Book'
even if you know that the original one stands 'Edited'
by 'mortals' who claim to possess the authority to do so from the 'immortal'

You are right. We find excuses for all our failures.
Change does not necessarily assure progress - but progress implacably requires change.

They believe in what others belie . It seems that they are yet to develop in wisdom.
