An ISO image (.iso) is a disk image of an ISO 9660 file system. ISO 9660 is an international standard originally devised for storing data on CD-ROM. More loosely, it refers to any optical disc image, even a UDF image.
To use the iso file you will need to have a software called powerISO or even daemon tools will do.
The software powerISO is more reliable and I trust it. It is freely available on www.download.com
Installing this software will create a virtual cd drive on your system and then you will only have to mount the iso file on to this virtual drive by right clicking on the powerISO icon.

PS. You have to burn the ISO to disc to get it to work.
