it may take some time for your cat to get use to the new people, new smells, new environment etc. give her a few weeks to get use to it and then she will feel right at home.
You can bring this up to the vet when you go there this week, they may be able to tell you something to help her adjust.

Each cat has their own unique personality. Some are more aloof than others. Each decides when they want to be petted, fed, or even be sociable with other cats! You dont' make a cat do anything but put it in a carrier to get it's shots at the vet.
If the cat is not happy it will find a way to disappear and find someone else to care for it.
Your not dealing with a dog that can be 'trained'.

My cat Precious is the same way.
She didn't like being pet or getting attention, and basically hid in the basement or in my parent's bedroom all day.
She eventually got pregnant, and since then she has been more social.
That isn't a good way to make a cat social, especially if you don't want more cats. Try showing her how you love her - feed her treats, try to play with toys with her (although Precious doesn't understand how to play lol), you could try to give her little pieces of chicken or some meat that you are eating, and she'll more then likely come to you more.

its " exactly " like my cat
have had 3 cats before this one , and they were all cuddly cats
this one is a psycho , if i try and pet it and it doesn't want petted " look out " it ill try and rip my arm off
like other people have said all cats are different
i just let him get on with his life , he seems happy enough , as he eats plenty and sleeps plenty , he just ain't a cuddly cat
am wondering though , i got my cat from a rescue centre when he was about a year old , maybe something happened to him when he was a kitten to make him like this
all the best

Talk to her and find out where she prefers to be petted. Most like to be stroked, but some have sensitive backs and prefer a shoulder rub instead. A chin scratch, or chest massage works on others.
She won't be like 'all other cats' because all cats are different. We have two who won't let anyone touch their feet or bellies (those are areas they are cautious about) but who like their tails gently stroked. Another likes tummy rubs but hates his back being touched. You adapt to what they like, and don't push it past their comfort level.
Talk to her, stay hands off for a while, and respect her preferences. Even a 'don't touch me' cat can calm down when they don't feel they're being forced into unwanted handling.

Probably not.
I have one who is now 9 yrs. old. She hates to be brushed. She runs and hides as soon as she sees one in hand. She hates to be held and cuddled too. When she wants attention it's fine. She's very demanding about getting it.But if our little couch queen is laying quietly she does not want to be bothered with us.She refuses to go outside and when she does want out we can't close the door or she'll freak out.She runs and jumps at shadows all night long and sleeps on back of the couch all day.Runs and hides when strangers come into the house.
When we go on vacation we take the dogs with but have someone come in to care for the cats twice daily. They all swear we're delusional about having 2 cats since they only see one the whole time we're gone.
She hears the dogs bark outside tho and she's running for the door growling loudly. Not sure if she's trying to protect her puppies or if she wants to get on them for making all that racket.
Our other cat thinks he's a dog. Brush comes out he demands to be done first, last and in between. He wants out to play with the dogs and heaven forbid the dogs get treats and he's left out. Strangers come in and he's in their faces checking them out.And you can't sit or lay down without him using you for a kitty bed.
It's frustrating because you think the one is absolutely miserable while the other is not.You think you're doing something wrong or maybe just not enough and try to do more yet the darn cat puts you in your place by letting you know in no uncertain terms it does not want to be bothered.Just call it when suppers ready.
Just make sure whether this cat wants it or not to give it some attention when you're paying attention to your other cats evan if you have to wake it up to do it.Don't show any favoritism. If you play with one play with it too and let it know it's loved and wanted.

Give it a bit of time. She may need to warm up to you at her own speed. Get play toys that she may respond to, feather on a wand, ping pong balls in a box or whatever. See if that will capture her interest.
From past experience of having cats and kittens, I have found that the kitten displays friendliness or not from the beginning. I have had shy kittens that grew up to be shy cats. I have had very friendly, playful kittens that stayed friendly. They all have their distinct purrrsonalities.

appears like a typical cat. Any possibility you have a Bengal? Mine love taking part in in water and this includes rest room water. attempt getting a kitty eating fountain. a number of them have water that runs down the section right into a bowl and it quite is filtered water. additionally, however the thumb tacks the place she won't get them, like in a lock field or a jar with a lid. If the cat have been to swallow one it may kill her. Is she spayed? some cats will cool down after being spayed. attempt leaving the blinds up so she will lay and lool out the window. My Bengal; chewed on the blinds till she had a hollow great sufficient that she ought to get contained in the window whilst she needed to. decrease her off of the cat nip, purchase her some toys and a cat tree. I promise you she purely needs some love and interest from you. Cats mellow as they become old, with the exception of Bengals, so draw close in there and fairly quickly she'll advance up and additionally you will miss that fiesty little kitten! word of caution, this cat acts purely like my Takarra did so some distance as hyperactivity and interest. Takarra grow to be lots the comparable way as your cat. in case you have a washing device or dryer on your place be very careful that she does not get in it. My Takarra snuck contained in the dryer as quickly as I wasn't looking and died. continuously verify and verify your toddler is risk-free. additionally verify the refrigerator and cabinets to verify she hasn't ran in. supply your toddler a kiss for me and enable her be attentive to this is alright to in basic terms be a cat!

My tiger tabby only likes me and isn't affectionate at all. The Chartreux is the total opposite, a total lovebug. It depends on the breed and personality. Tonkinese are also lovebugs.
