Seems kinda strange to me that God will only accept me if I, or someone on my behalf, offers him a sacrifice to attone for my sins.

This is especially so when I think of so many enlightened Eastern cultures where 'blood sacrifices' of any kind are considered an abbomonation.

Isn't doing good deeds and asking for forgiveness from God- and from God alone: my creator, the omniscient, the all-knowing, all forgiving, most merciful- enough? My thought was that having an enlightened spirit with good deeds is more valuable to God than any form of 'blood sacrifice', which from my reading of Leviticus 5:11-13 says that blood isn't even necessary even during the sacrificing olden-days.

I can accept that humanity was better, if not perfect, during the time of Adam. I can accept evil came about because of Adam. What I can't understand is why God will punish me for what Adam did. Rather, I thought God should praise and be proud of me for knowing of evil but doing all I can do avoid it. Yes I'm not perfect, we all sin. But my desire to avoid sin, my prayers to deliver me from temptation and evil, and doing what I can to do good, and of course ask for forgiveness as I forgive others; these are what I thought should attone for my sins. I don't know why a physical blood sacrifice is required.

You can't be a Christian and believe in original sin. I am not responsible for the sins of Adam and Eve or anyone else for that matter. I inherit the consequences of their sin...death, but not the guilt. Read Ezekiel the 18 chapter, it is very clear on this topic.Original sin is man-made doctrine, not biblical.

The Bible tells us that the Genesis creation was "good." There was no sin and therefore no suffering or death. Why then did God give Adam and Eve the ability to sin, knowing full well that they would sin and bring death and pain to the human race? Some believe that if Adam had been created without the ability to chose, then he would have been a "robot." A father cannot make his children love him. They choose to love him because they have a free will. Others point out that humanity would never have seen the depth of the love of God, as displayed in the cross, unless Adam had sinned, and that fact could be one reason why God allowed sin to enter the world.

Jesus' sacrifice was indeed bloody, but it was also effective, necessary, and totally unique.

From our purely human point of view, the reason Jesus' sacrifice worked, was because Satan was in charge of the world at the time, Satan used the Jews and the Romans to unjustly put to death the totally innocent Son of God, and as a result, Satan lost everything that he had earlier gained from Adam's sin.

Nobody ... not even the devil ... had the right to take the life of a sinless man ... let alone the only Son of God.

And since ... due to original sin ... Jesus was the ONLY male ever born without sin ... he was the only one who was qualified to lay down his life to "save" his friends.

Once Satan's evil dominion was destroyed, Jesus was resurrected, and installed as the new head of all mankind.

With Jesus in that spot, God was more than happy to forgive anyone who swore faithful allegiance to him.

The church Jesus personally founded carries on the work of salvation in the world today.

Your blood comments are obsolete. All the old laws were merely temporary.

The new covenant is now in full effect ... and under the NEW covanant, God shares the blood (and the body) of Christ with us, for the purpose of our salvation.

The eastern cultures typically expect little or nothing from their "enlightened" faith traditions.

That's just about what they can expect to receive.

Wise up ... before it's too late.

Well Jesus was (at least) half human. So I don't believe for a second that (if original sin does exist) he didn't have it. God is supposed to be loving and fair to any good people, not just his Son. You can't call God fair and loving and have him spread the guilt of two people to everybody, and say "Oh you're my son, you don't get the BAD things in life." The whole POINT of sending Jesus down was to be mortal and experience the same things as us.

The sinfulness of that estate whereinto man fell, consists in the guilt of Adam's first sin, the want of original righteousness, and the corruption of his whole nature, which is commonly called Original Sin; together with all actual transgressions which proceed from it.

We are all born into to sin. Christ was not born into sin. He was without sin. He was the only one found worthy to pay the price for my sin. He died in my place and paid for the consequence for my sins. He gave this gift to humanity, he has redeemed all who are willing to except his gift. If you are not willing to except him taking your place for the consequences of your actions. That is fine you will be allowed to except the consequences of your own actions freely. He won't force you to be saved. It's your choice, isn't that really fair of God not to force you. He gives you a free choice. When you are caught speeding do you not get a ticket and fine, those are consequences to your actions. Very simple to understand, except for one big problem. Mans heart is wicked and man desires to satisfy the lust of the flesh. Man desires it so much that God gives man over to his own evilness. Just what man wants. Consequences of our actions. Oh by the way he is fair & just to give man exactly what man wants. (mankind) As for me I would much rather except the most precious gift that has ever been given. Thank you Jesus. and Happy Birthday. And Merry Christmas to all of you who are searching for Gods truth.

The fall of man ....is the original sin, its influence will be there until we lose this human body......there can never be a living man or woman without the original sin...so original sin is inherited...Jesus is the only person born without this taint

Yes, you can indeed be Christian and not believe in original sin.

Now, how do some Christians feel about my answer?

Probably the way I feel when THEY insist you can be Jewish and STILL accept Jesus as messiah.
