It's fun to sneak up on the cats at this hour to take photos of them in the dark. You have to be pretty silent, however. If I knew how to set my camera, I'd take sky shots. I've seen some taken and posted at Weather Underground and they are neat.
I like to take photos of my dogs at this hour as they're now up and romping and stomping on the porch.

Or maybe a sunrise on a clear day. It's cloudy today. Mist over the lake can be nice on a still day. Lots of wildlife activity.

The beauty of the photographic medium is it's quantitative properties. You can make a photograph under any conditions, simply by keeping the shutter open long enough.
