I have an 89' sr20det 240sx with a front mount intercooler. My car is pretty low so the intercooler has a ripped bottom so i was wondering if that would effect performance but that much and if i shouldn't drive it or not.

if it's ripped open then it will loose some psi and will not receive sufficient cooling it could overheat and do some damage to ur engine...if you want to keep driving it...stay away from the boost (stay under 3500rpm)i think you should replace it....

Does it leak air in boost? have some one punch the throttle for 1 to 2 seconds and either with soapy water or your hands feel any air leaks you just won't have as much boost and there is the possability that the car may suck in dirt and water. Get an newer intercooler soon

check ur gauges to see if there is loss of presure anywhere, but with a cracked intercooler I would change it just to be safe. Excuse to put on some bigger piping and intercooler!
