Ivy, if Christ is not a God then you are agreeing that he never took a bride, correct? Or are you just saying that you believe that the two are complely separate physical entities.

Even in the KJV Bible there is plenty of circumstantial evidence that Jesus was married. At the wedding, Jesus was asked to provide wine by his mother. I've heard it was the groom's responsibility to provide the wine in the Hebrew culture. Also the Jews took the commandment to multiple and replenish the earth very seriously. The Pharisees and scribes harped on everything that Jesus did that was against their traditions. If he wasn't married, that would have been the first complaint or accusation they would have against him. Also, the way he acted in the house of Mary and Martha is indicative of a husband. And Mary was also the first person that Jesus showed himself to after he was resurrected.

This isn't LDS doctrine, but I believe that Jesus was married to Mary.

You are right that there's no evidence of that in the Bible that Constantine forced upon the world. Since he was a pagan that believed that God was the Sun, of course he would not want anyone Christian to believe that a God could be a married physical being. There were many books in the Bible left out when the Council of Nicea decided what the Christians were meant to believe. Every one of Christ's 12 Apostles wrote a Gospel, yet only four of them show up in today's Bible. The work of a pagan Constantine, who also decided that Christmas would be December 25.

In the Bible it says that man was created in God's image. Doesn't that imply physical characteristics? Why would God command that man and woman be married, if it wasn't something he believed in himself?

By the way, there are many people, not just Mormon, but all over the world that say there is evidence that Jesus was in fact married to Mary Magdelene. It was once again, pagan Constantine that created the idea that Mary was a whore, to dissuade people from believing that a God could take part in human activities, or be a Woman. How would it look for a male dominated society to believe that a woman could be a god?

Unfortunately for most of the world, Constantine screwed up a lot of things for Christians.

OK so a lot of us belong to religious organizations that hold doctrines, beliefs, and have practices that even we find uncomfortable talking about in public. Either because we don't actually believe it or practice it ourselves, or because it seems really weird and is difficult to explain. I am a Roman Catholic, and we have lots of issues like that!
But the Mormons seem to have a several aspect of their faith that they don't like discussing, whether it's baptism for the dead, or the temple wear the guys wear under their clothing, or the history of plural marriage, and their rejection of the Deity of Christ and the Trinity, including how they see non Mormon religions, especially Catholics and Protestant Churches. They seem to let the public assume things about them that aren't true. Why is that?
Jehovah's Witnesses are pretty up front about their beliefs...
no blood transfusions, no Christmas, no celebrating birthdays...

Really? Every nun is the 'bride of Christ'. Some say the church is the bride of Christ. It doesn't seem that he lacks parental of marital responsibility.
