Serious question: I mean like, " God you scared me", or " Oh my God, what was that". I used to say it, but now that I am born-again I believe it's using God's name in vain. I know for you God doesn't exist so if you do say it is it just a part of your vocabulary?

Yes, I used to say it all the time too. And still do, but no offense to God meant, of course it is just a part of vocabulary, though now I do believe that God exists.
'Using Lord's Name in vain' - is normally a christian thing. They think that doing that it IS in vain. It's fine.
So many people you will hear to say 'oh, cheepers' instead of 'oh, Jesus', etc. And I do say the alternatives too. Mainly people don't want to offend the occasional believer of 'not using the lord's name if vain' amidst them.

You are never born again. It is another trick of your mind. You are only born once. However being athiest was wrong, because on what basis one can say God does not exist. Has he searched the whole universe. If it is his believe, then it is similar to the one who believed that there is God. The belief should not be bline. You need to first search the true and one God that created not just you, but also the heavens and earth.

Yes I do say 'oh my God' to express shock. But then again I also talk about the 'green-eyed monster' when someone is jealous. It doesn't mean that I believe in either God or the green-eyed monster, so yes, just a colloquiallism.

Yeah I say it as an expression void of any actual value. Also I totally disagree that even as a Christian that it is using his name in vain. In fact when I was a Christian my oh-so-knowledgeable pastor explained that using his name in vain actually means representing him falsely. For example: Claiming you are doing something in the name of Christ but actually trying to save a bunch of money for yourself. Stuff like that. That is what it means from a scholarly christian perspective, although personally... I am an atheist.

It takes a very determined atheist to say "oh my non-existent personification of the human need for comfort and belief in a greater good". It is, as you say, just a part of the long list of vocabulary.

Yep, just the vernacular of my Society. I am neither taking your Gods name in vain nor am I calling out to your God or any God when i say it

When talking to the ignorant { usually Christians sorry but it is not only true but intentional on their part . Part of their religion I understand } I will often say GOD DA***T and with great feeling does that count ?

they say "oh man" lol.. maybe some are humanist in denial.

I believe in God.. they can not because they are blinded to truth..

--i think that if they do say it then they are contradicting themselves by accepting the existence of something they claim does not exist.

speaking of which--I challenge any atheist to explain to me their very own existence.
If you can not give a clear definite answer then at most you are agnostic. for you can not disprove that God created you and would then take the position that you just do not know--for if you do know then you should have a valid rational reason for your existence. I want to know for all the atheists on this page--what is your explanation for your very own existence? tell me really--really i would like to know.. so keep on defending nothing..

THEY CANT TELL US
THEY DON'T KNOW THEMSELVES
THEY ARE AGNOSTIC AND HIDING IT

maybe just maybe they might say something like "we poped into existence from nothing-- but they just don't know that do they.. they were not there--so for the most part they cant disprove the existence of God so at most they cant know for sure--they are agnostic not atheist--atheists doesn't exist.. there is no such thing as atheist..

God don't believe in atheist.. why should we?

maybe if they came to know Christ personally they would not be here defending nothing.. which is what they supposed to believe nothing.. and its funny that they have nothing to defend yet they are here defending nothing.. try that one on for size.. haha. .

Sure, it's a cultural expression.

When I was a kid being forced to go to church, the pastor said one Sunday using the name in vain was along the lines of a politician saying "if you believe in god, vote for me".

Oh, my goodness. Well, since YOU believe it's using God's name in vain, I'll stop immediately.
