Please check out the recipe above. I have used this a few times and it always comes out perfect. It is very moist and has that deep chocolate taste that you get in restaurants but pretty easy to make. I do hope you try this recipe, I know you will love it!

*snicker* Tash, I know better. Button slip, lol.
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but cakes are very tricky. Even under the best circumstances, the weather can be bad and it turn out screwed up....let alone what happens when an inexperienced baker gets ahold of it. I know, i've been trying for about a year now, and I haven't got it yet...but I will, worry not!
I'd say go for it, but you say you cannot screw it up. So two words: Duncan Hines. Buy a Duncan Hines devil's food cake mix or two to keep on hand just in case yours is a flop and you need to start over fast. Trust me,these things are handcrafted by experts, idiot proof and easy.
If you do go for your own, then make sure you bake a test one first.
Good luck. ^_^ Is this a first birthday too? if so, YAY!

Errr, okay? I'll try and relate this to R&S.
The book says you should use certain ingredients, yet some proponents argue you can take it with a pinch of salt. Others zealously maintain that it was written by someone knowledgeable and you should stick to it.
The best method is to use scientific method to determine the best combination to live out life ... of your cake.
Isn't that cute?
