1) as a Catholic, homosexuality is only a sin if you are a PRACTICING homosexuality. If you abstain from that lifestyle, then you are not sining. So one can have the attraction and still be a good/holy/whatever Catholic. It is the acting upon those feelings that is the sin
2) If he does "decide" he is really gay, he may change his religion. His old religion becomes 'inconvenient' and so a switch becomes 'necessary.' This happens a lot, not only in this situation. Divorce and remarriage often forces leaving the Catholic church since that is viewed as adultery (unless one can prove it was not a valid marriage in the first place - not easy).
3) He could be praying for the strength or support to turn away from those feelings. Who knows what he is really feeling (other then God). I'd pray for him and try to be supportive of him.

God endeavours to send his good news and wisdom to the world. Unfortunately it is thwarted by the reiging powers driven by self interest rather than love for a greater good. Infertility I believ is a sign for us to stop producing and gather ourselves together for ascension.
Gays, there are two types, firstly thsoe who loathe women, they who form part of the backlash to the hyposcrisy of feminism.
The Original Gay were those hugely desired beautiful men who are much loved and love all in turn. They are also in a position to know the true nature of the lower order of women.
thought.
There is a whispering from the heavens to turn to God at a time, when the media and piliticos have deframentised the church and thereby its power, in order to take on that power for an ignoble cause.
I believe love is love, social conditioning and experience incline us towards a particular mode of behaviour. Sexual debauchery and depravity is offencive.
The sexual tendency's of all should be something personal, and most find it distasteful, and detestable to have the views of the immoral publicised inflicted upon by the tender ears of the populace., whatever their tendent leaning.

Being gay doesn't send you to hell. To be gay would merely be a temptation, we are all tempted with sin, even Jesus was tempted. It's when you deny sin is where you get into trouble with these issues. For example, “God would approve because I wouldn’t like this if He didn’t.” However, sin wouldn’t be a temptation if we didn’t like it. Still sin just the same. This is why we repent (turn away) from sin as Christians.

We are living at a time in history when people from many different faiths are gay and they prefer to live for there flesh instead of living for Christ. God's will pour out His wrath on all who reject His Word

I know of people who are attracted to people of the same gender, but remain celebate so as to not displease God. Being tempted is not a sin, only giving in to it.
