I have recieved a cheque from an insurance company through my solictor. Unfortunately i have just noticed that they have put on Mrs instead of Miss. My bank card says Miss will the bank accept it when i try to put it into my account?

Depends how pedantic the teller is today! I have put cheques in like that before, but also had them refused. Try it and see - but you may have to get the insurers to reissue the cheque in the correct name.

Probably, best thing to do is take the covering letter with you when you go to bank the cheque, and just have a word with the cashier about it when you get to the counter.

I find that they usually refuse this sort of thing at the counter.
The trick I use is to put it in an Autobank paying in envelope and post it in the branch. It has always then been processed ok overnight.
I'm presuming your bank has an automatic paying in facility though.

The bank will accept it.
Play it cool and bank it and they wont even notice.
You could even use one of those machines to pay it in!

The bank will accept it. They're only concerned with the payee's name and/or initials, not marital status.

I don't think you will have any problems with it, best to take it to the bank and ask.
