He will....very soon.

His concept of time is not limited like ours.

The Anglo / American world power is the last of those mentioned in the Books of Daniel and Revelation.

Almost all suffering in the world takes place by the hands of one human to another. The Bible says God is no respecter of person's. If God truly is a fair and just God, then if he intervened when one person starts a war, or bombs a building, or anything like that, would he not also be forced to intervene each time we told lies when our wives ask "does this make me look fat?" Or when people cheat on their taxes, or tell their children that Santa is bringing them toys.

If God shouldn't intervene over seemingly small sins, then where should God draw the line over what is worth intervening in, and not. Therefore God allows us all to make whatever choices we make, and then reserves judgement for the end of our lives.

What is not important is whether one person suffers more than another in life, what is important, is what lessons can we learn from our suffering to make our lives better. The important thing is what do we do with the time we are given in life, not how much we are suffering.

God is leaving us alone to sort it out ourselves. And it's not like we couldn't either, if we really wanted to. The world is a pit because WE make it a pit. That's free will for you.

The Deists believed that God made the universe, started it running, and then backed off to watch. They didn't believe that God intervenes. They didn't believe in angels or miracles or even 'revelations' like the scriptures.

They used an analogy of clock towers. Suppose there were two clock towers, side by side, in the middle of a town. They both keep perfect time. One of them, the clockmaker actually lives in the tower, does excellent maintenance to keep his clock running and correct. The other tower, the clockmaker got it going years ago, then sealed up the tower and left, and hasn't been seen since. Which of these two clockmakers would you think was better? The one whose clock didn't need maintenance or intervention. Since the universe is God's creation, it is -perfect- and doesn't require intervention.

We will either 'get it' or we will destroy ourselves, and good riddance. Some say the world will end in fire, some in ice . . .

What you wrote under 'additional details' is the key to your question. Why indeed?
The 'God' in question is that described in the Bible and is totally a human invention.
Cosmologists have admitted that, if the 'big bang' theory of the creation of the Universe is correct, they have no idea what caused it and it is at this point that science, philosophy and religion merge.
If there is some sort of higher intelligence that created the Universe, it is certainly totally unconcerned about anything happening on this planet. All suffering in the world is man-made.

As if there were not enough suffering in the world, god, with his boundless love, opts to send those who take advantage of his gift of free will to everlasting hell. That sure sounds like more suffering than what occurs regularly under his watch on earth.

When was the last time you intervened?

(The typical liberal will blame God for all the suffering but not to Allah who's followers are causing a lot of it. Kinda screwy reasoning skills, huh?)

When I read the Bible, I am reminded that God claims credit for causing much of that suffering, and yet billions continue to sing to him.

Go figure.

good question. religions came about to keep people under control many years ago. they were told by kings and queens and governments of nations that if rules were not adhered to then there is a higher power that will not accept us.

We get told today that its a test and we have been given choices to do right nad wrong. babies getting murdered, rapes etc etc. There are other ways to test people without going to these lengths!

From a former-Christian perspective, it is probably the fact that "God" gave us free-will, and so it is mans' doing for all the evils of the world. If not man, then the devil.

However, from my now point of view, I would say that we humans existed with free-will until we started to abuse others, taking advantage of their minds and susceptibilities to fear and hope.

That's like asking why invisible pink unicorns don't intervene.
