I happen to love a granola cereal made by Nature's Path called "Organic Hemp Plus Granola." My husband says he won't touch it because hemp is related to marijuana and he served 20 years in the Navy, and claims military people wouldn't eat my cereal. Is this true??

I mean my cereal is obviously NOT marijuana. It's legal and sold in major stores. Would you avoid my cereal too??

My hubby would avoid it like the plague. While hemp is not marijuana, it can cause false positives. Dh also refused to eat lemon poppy seed cake, due to the poppy seeds causing false positives. Personally, don't have a problem with it, but totally understand your hubby's reaction.

I actually got my mom some hemp hand cream products, for 2 reasons. 1- it's excellent for extremely dry skin and 2 - she was a juvenile justice officer and it had that same scent that weed had. She used it all up, but only on the weekends and on holiday. And she loved the humor behind it!

I love Granola cereals but I've never heard of that brand of cereal but I'd look into the ingredients before buying it.

It COULD create a false positive on a drug test. I also think that the military bases don't sell stuff like that, because of that reason.

He is probably subject to random drug tests so is just being cautious. Extremely unlikely to affect results but hey, let him have his opinions.
In my experience military people are generally anti-illegal drugs.
