I also tend to believe that. I am less susceptible to mosquito bites than my wife. Strange are the ways in which flies behave and bite.

I have been told that certain Insects (eg: mosquitos) & Fleas are attracted to certain chemicals being excreted from the body. For example: mosquitos like sweet blood. So therefore, they are attracted to someone who eats a lot of sweet products. Whereas, someone who eats a lot of spices for example, will not easily attract flea or insect bites.
whether it is a myth or not, I do not know, but it has been said, eating a lot of tomatoes, will reduce the chance of bites.
Quote:"Travel Doctor"
"Different species of mosquitoes show preferences and, in many cases, narrow restrictions as to host animals. They are apparently attracted to host animals by moisture, lactic acid, carbon dioxide, body heat, and movement."
I hope this helps and if someone can clarify if what I am told is correct, then so much the better! :-)

I, too, have the same problem with fleas. However, mosquitos do not bother me much. I am usually the only person in my family to get flea bites. You could try wearing Off.

Maybe it's food-related. For example, garlic changes a person's body odor like many other things we eat. Garlic and brewer's yeast is an all natural flea repellant when mixed into a cat's food.... just guessing... I could be way off here but that's an approach...

Same here, I think some people attract mosquitoes and fleas more than others, I get bitten like crazy at home. Just use some bug repellant or something.

I don't know about flea bites, but mosquitos go after me like I am a blood bank! They attack my nephew the same way.

Yes, some people do attract more bites than others. And it does have to do with certain chemicals in their blood.
Try eating extra garlic to scare them off, and using a good insect repellent. You might even try wiping yourself down with vinegar: I tried that a few times (being someone who attracts mosquitoes), and it does work.
Good luck!

It is your blood. As everyone's blood differs, certain people's scent attract certain insects more than others. My sister's blood attracts mosquitos more so than everyone around her. Her daughter was an entomologist specializing in mosquitos, so she used her as bait to collect specimens.
