Tell parents first, then your other family members. Be very careful about who you tell next. Many people assume that when you tell them about your engagement it's an invitation to the wedding. I told one of my friends, and now she thinks she's a bridesmaid. So I'm going to have to have a very hard conversation with her later.
My mom gave me great advice when she said to keep a little quiet about it until later when we know what we want for a wedding (how big for instance). Then when people ask about the wedding you can word your answer in a way so they figure out they aren't invited.
I know it's kind of weird, but I've read about it in several books already, so I guess it's pretty common.

I told my mom first then some friends but didn't tell the rest of my family for a month..it was a sticky situation...so I'd say tell parents and family first! Then Friends

Your parents and siblings. They will be devasted if they hear it from someone else other than you. Next tell your best friends....be sure to find a way to ensure both your exes will find out via a third party. Revenge is oh so sweet. After that it really doesn't matter. Just be sure to spend this moment with people who are genuinely happy for you.

I assume your fiance knows already?.....Just asking because it seems that if you feel the need to ask a question with such an obvious answer you might be the type of person who neglected to mention it.
If not, then tell him first.

Parents and children should not hear the news from anyone other than you. So tell them first.
