It is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior. It is the day of the year set aside for giving as Jesus gave of him self to live and die for each of us. For all mankind not no matter of race or color.

Original Christmas will remain as it's the day our Lord Jesus Birthday. An additional holiday is ok to relax but not to replace Christmas

It's been Holiday Season for a long time (just don't tell the secularists that holiday is short for holy day)

When a large part of the U.S. was Christian then Christmas Season worked fine. But nowadays there are large numbers of people who are other religions and it makes sense to change with the times. I think it's kind of funny how up to date and modern everyone wants to be, except in that one area. Afterall, it doesn't take anything away from their Christmas (which is a Holiday), just acknowledges that there are others who feel just as happy about their holidays.

I cannot believe that people are trying to even take Jesus out of Christmas. I always wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Yay!
Now all the religions with holidays in the season can be included without feeling like the neglected step-children. It acknowledges that mankind celebrates the seasons without giving precedence to one religion or another.

I think it's entertaining. It's a nice attempt at being fair to everyone, but a rose by any other name is still a rose, know what I mean? And all the fundies get so upset over it, and blah blah blah, but it hasn't changed a thing. It's a weak charade, but it seems to work on a superficial level.
