What if a guy holds the door open for you, defends you, other people tell you he stares at you but you dont know it, jokes around with you does all this mean he likes you? The guy says he doesnt like me that way but my friend says that he would go out with me and even his mom said he likes me. My aunt has saw him stare at me when i didnt know it. He defended me against two girls that were bringing nonsense.

Now, like is relative and is subjective...he might really just treat his friends that well. You really would have to ask him (which you did, and he said that he does not like you in that way)
In all honesty, I think he probably does have some affection for you, but in general, he only likes you as a friend. If I had more confidence, I probably would do those things too for a friend that is a girl.

It is hard to tell. Sounds like all the signs are there. He seems like he is in denial somehow. When he is more secure he will definately tell the truth.

Yes, he likes you. He's scared to mention he loves you because he's afraid you don't like him the same way. That's why you have to give a liittle hint you love him.
