People just go with the old white guy image mostly because the associate an old person with being wise. As for him being white, I pretty sure that's just a cultural thing.

God is portrayed as an old white guy---because those that write stories or scripts about him have to place some sort of human qualities on him. Those writers want to make him as human as possible and the majority of the writers--as well as the audience they are trying to get money out of are White themselves--so why not.

He could easily be seen as a wise old black man---like in the movie "BRUCE ALMIGHTY" when Morgan Freedman played GOD.

in the bible--God tells Moses to shield his eyes when God passes by him and Moses is hidden in a crevice on the mountain and never sees God--but a bright light that moves across the side of the mountain. This alone turns Moses' hair white and ages him from just being that close to God.

That is the only description I have ever read in the bible that attempts to describe God other than the part that we were made in his image.

This is all supposition but perhaps the following in true:
1. In any society old means wise. therefore God must be old.
2. Who are the contributors to the Bible? Any black people or Mexican people or Chinese people writng chapters in the Bible? Of course those contributing will write from their racial perspective.
3. Even if the original writers were other than white, the amount of "whitewashing" that would have gone on by the powers-that-be could or would erase the fact.

These are just guesses. Maybe I write this becasue I am white. Maybe I write this because I am God. Maybe I write this becuase I was other than white in a past life. Maybe God is white to white people, black to black people, brown to brown people and yelow to yellow people. Maybe God has many names and many different requirements, depending on your race. Maybe God is the ultimate Racist. Maybe.

Yeah where did you get the idea that is a notion? Not in the Bible. Moses saw Him as the burning bush, Job has no description of Him.ds
I guess if you've seen Micheal Angelo's painting but that is his depiction.
Anyway, it's better to concentrate on His teaching.

that kind of god is a Pseudo-immortal and definitely an Impostor. True immortals don't age, they are eternally young. And mind you, these immortals are messengers and not to be worshipped as the One, True God.

The One, True God is bigger than the Universe and if ever we're searching for his Material Incarnation, it must surely be the Universe and nothing less than the Universe.

peace

I think that people have a misconception about who came from where as far as race goes. God is not a Caucasian, he is before all of that. Note the word 'asian' in that name.

But I think that you'll find it interesting that this is a description of God in the Old Testament:

Daniel 7
9 "As I looked,
"thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.

10 A river of fire was flowing,
coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated,
and the books were opened.

Then Jesus appears in the Old Testament:
Daniel 7
13 "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Hmmmm.

The Ancient of Days sits on a throne. The 'one like a son of man' appraoches the Ancient of Days and there is an order to worship the 'one like the son of man'.

Hmmmmm.

It does not say that anywhere but the concept is because God has always existed He must be really old. As far as God being white that is impossible.

Ha! It's funny, but everyone does have an image of God in their minds, but are any of them really the image of God? Here is a video by Christine Breese where she explores that question... http://www.umsonline.org/SpiritualVideoSatsang/SatsangTranscriptsChristineBreese/13GodAndTheUniverseConsciousnessGodCenterConsciousUniverseGodSelfAware.htm
