The Holy spirit is a person of the God Head or Trinity
The Bible and Jesus refer to him as he or him.
John14:
15 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
Also John 3:5-8
5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

Holy Spirit.
He is part of God the trinity.
He is the "active force"
He is the one who gives gifts, of love, wisdom, values, morals, intelligence, evident as he gave the disciples power.
He is represented by a Dove, Fire, Air, Breath=Life
He is basically how God interacts with our world in a non-corporal for.
Don't ever say anything against the Holy Spirit.
It is said, things said again the son, are forgiven,
against the father, forgiven,
Against the Holy spirit, not so.
The Holy Spirit holds GREAT important.
You can invite the spirit into your heart, Christian or not.
The Holy spirit was the dove which came from heaven when Jesus was baptized.
I don't think the Spirit, him her or it, has ever spoken, or showed personality. It is debated whether it is a force, or a being.I think, he's both :D Let your faith and the Spirit guide you.
I love you.

It is one aspect of the trinity.
Trinity meaning - God is 3 seperate entities, but one God. One of those unexplainable things...
The holy spirit is usually the one that people have the hardest time explaining. Jesus is easy to explain (supposedly) as is the Father (the old white guy) but the Holy SPirit?
Often it is viewed as the force that gives you the right words to say, inspiration or something like that. No real 'consciousness' although it is a whole person/God in it's own right.
Hope that helps some...

The Holy Spirit In The Salvation of Mankind
A. Before Our Conversion While We Are Yet A Sinner
There are three things the Holy Spirit does for sinners...
1) convinces man that he is a sinner
2) shows wrath of God to produce Godly fear
3) enlightens man to God's salvation plan
The Holy Spirit is the inner voice that tells us something is wrong with our life. That inner voice is a blessed gift from God, who loves us enough to show us our error.
Without the knowledge that we are sinners in the court of God, man has no motivation to seek God's salvation. The guilt and fear of being estranged from God is a necessary ingredient to our eternal salvation.
The conviction of the Holy Spirit is the beginning of a new life with God. We are greatly privileged that God would visit us through His Spirit to draw us to Himself.
Those who continually suppress the conviction of the Holy Spirit eventually develop a "seared conscience" where they no longer feel any true guilt or fear of eternal punishment.
(Words of Jesus) "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:" John 16:7-8 (KJV)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of God. He is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. When you accept Christ, your body is filled with God the Holy Spirit. This is why our body is refered to as a temple. We are called to take very good care for our body as is houses the Holy Spirit.

I think there are things that we as humans will never fully understand until one day we stand before God and have entered the realm of the Spiritual. The Bible tells us the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). To me, that is all I need to know. It is not one's conscience, however.

The Holy Spirit is more than a conscience. It's the part of God that lives in you and guides you. He doesn't just put up flags when you're doing something morally right or wrong, he also leads you to fulfill your life's purpose.

It is the spiritual form of God. In essence, it is the Spirit of God Himself, and it only comes down upon the blessed (as in saints, prophets, etc.).
