we will be out of town at a hotel and i wondered if will miss the end of the race by checking out about 12:00. i can probably get a late checkout. or shall i just get the room for another night and come home in the morning?

Well for East coast time the race coverage starts around 12:30 or 1, and the race usually gets underway around 2:00pm. The race lasts at least 3 and a half hours so the earliest it would end is probably around 5:30. The Daytona 500 ends under the lights every year now.

FOX has continued to move the start time back each year to get higher ratings. This year the race doesn't start to appx 3:30 and should end sometime around 7 or 7:30. In 2007 the race ended in the dark and we froze our butts off. You should make it home for the end with that early a check out time.

You dont really know what time they will drop the green flag. I look in my Tv guide and it says one time and then they start the race at a different. time
