There are plenty of great beers in Cali (not as old as Yuengling Brewery, but better beers nonetheless). Try Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Anchor Steam, Gordon Biersch, etc. There are lots of great microbrewery pubs there also, and you get a lot of the Oregon and Washington beers shipped down to Cali also.

Karl Strauss is a big name that makes a decent series of beers. Depends on where you live. Huntington Beach and Newport Beach have great micros. BJ's bar and grill does a decent job too.

in case you like the beer to style good, glass bottles. If it is an ale i like it bottle-primed (it is while they carbonate it in the bottle by putting a splash sugar in it so it ferments and there's a splash yeast down the backside). in case you basically want to slam it down as rapid as conceivable, cans on account which you may shot-gun it (cut back a hollow in the part close to the backside, positioned your mouth over the hollow and open the can on the magnificent so which you would be able to chug the entire element in 2 seconds).
