why don't they pray to true gods like Mithras & Zeus ?

Being bad spellers (like spelling atheist as athiest), believers have literally changed the original spelling of Zeus to Jesus.

There are no false idols.
Pray to Mithra and Zeus, if that's what works for you.
Pray to Jesus and God, if that's what makes you happy.
I personally go for refuge in the Buddha the Sanga (the community) and the Darhma (the Word).
In addition I give thanks to "God". But my definition of God is rather complicated, but I’ll try to explain...
However people have anthropomorphized the spirit of God (as Oden, Zeus, Ra, Kali-Durga, Alla, Jahova etc) it all reflects the same thing...
The one source of all that was, all that is now, and all that ever will be.
As an extention of this idea: You see Jesus. They see Sidharta Gotama (the Buddha). She sees Mohamad.
I see “the Christ Consciousness” or a human being filled with the pure spirit of God sent to Earth as a master teacher.
So in this way you can’t possibly pray to a false idol because they are all reflections of the One (God).

We all make choices about religion, even if we choose not to follow any religion at all. My choice is to be a Christian. If you feel that Jesus is a "false idol", that's your opinion, and you've got a right to it. I'm not part of a culture that worships Zeus or Mithra, but if somebody wishes to do so, that's their business. I've made the choice to be Christian; others can pursue whatever spiritual path they like.

Who's to say Zeus and Mithras are not false idols?
If Jesus is a false idol, which he is not, then your gods are as well.
You would answer the same way if i asked you why do people who dont believe in one God or Jesus worship false idols like Mithras and Zeus?

What makes you pray to Mithras and Zeus? Christians pray to their god because they believe in him just as you do yours. Do not criticize others for their faith just as you do not want others to criticize yours.

And wouldn't Zeus be mad that you claim Mithra is a "true god"?
By declaring both as "true gods" aren't you actually proving neither is?
