my reactions in the past have been from complete hatred and depression. it's happened to me about 3 times before i met my current boyfriend who i live in with. i blame the cheating mostly on immaturity of the guy.
when i was completely mad: i literally walked out of the room and never said another word to him (i found out on my own, and after 3 hours of lying this guy finally confessed). i changed my phone number, dropped casual, mutual friends, and almost went to court for a restraining order. any words said were through my "lawyer", a friend in law school.
the other time i was seriously hurt because i felt that my trust with this awesome person was broken, it was unfortunately just the way it happened, i couldn't be too angry because i felt helpless and violated. there was nothing that i could do to fix what was happening.
i think it just really depends.

Confront both parties together!, get the full story... Then if its true take all the anger out on your other half, it no sense in taking it out of the other party cos they were just there for your other half too cheat with...

Look for the problem in your relationship. Not in pointing fingers. If your partner is worth it discuss the reasons and find the "dark zone" that created the situation..Keep it open, keep it honest. from there the clear direction will be obvious.

If I found this out...I would walk away ...in fact, I would run! walking isn't fast enough!
I would think "he doesn.t deserve me."
Cheating is not in my makeup...and nor will I be with someone who does. I believe in closing doors before opening doors.

I was hurt and disappointed and I told the person so. It wasn't so much the "stepping out" that bothered me as it was the sneakiness and deceit of it.
