Some Christians like to say that god answers their prayers with the Bible, written two to four thousand years before their prayer was uttered.
That's kind of a neat trick for Sky Daddy, don't you think?

I have a feeling that you don't really want an answer but you are looking for someone else to agree with you. Not that there is anything wrong with that but at least read what I have to say...
I have never heard the voice of God, but I have felt his comfort. When I have had problems I can just talk with God and feel peace and the right thing to do comes to my mind. You may call this lame but that is how I know God has talked with me.
On another point even if you don't believe in God psychologically prayer has been proven to be good. There is something about just voicing concerns out loud which assist us humans.
If you don't believe me just google it

Yes, God does sometimes "talk back" to me when I pray. However, I have never heard His voice out loud. He uses various ways to communicate with me. Sometimes He uses my own thoughts, sometimes He uses other people to encourage or convict me, and sometimes I see answers in His Scriptures (for there is nothing new under the sun and we all struggle with the same basic issues).
We pray because God told us to pray, not because He needs our accolades, but because it is good for us.
The point of prayer is to praise God,
to thank Him,
to ask Him to forgive you for your sins
and to help you repent of them,
to ask Him to help you be more Christ-like,
to tell Him how you feel
and what you are thinking
and what you think you need
(or someone else needs),
and then to remember who God is
and what He has already done for us,
and to come to an acceptance of --
and a desire for --
His will in our lives.
We gladly accept His will when we remember that He always has our best interests at heart, even when it doesn't seem like it to us at the time.
We remember who He is and who we are in comparison.
His ways are not our ways.
What seems obvious to our little brains and our little experience is so far below what He is and what He knows and what He can do.
We remember that He sees the whole picture,
while we only see a few pixels.
We remember that He is God and we are not.
And then, as we trust Him to always do what is right and good and holy and just and loving --
even if we don't "get it" --
we enter into a peace and joy that is beyond understanding in the midst of pain and sorrow and disappointment
I am sorry you didn't get what you thought you needed from God and gave up on Him.
I hope you give it another try and do as I did twenty years ago:
Ask Him to prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt
that He is real
and that He really does have relationships with people
and that you really do need Him to save you.
He didn't answer me out loud when I asked Him that
but, within six months,
He proved to me in several unique ways that He was absolutely and truly who He said He was in the Scriptures.
I finally believed, although I had been an atheist for a very long time.
It took another year for me to realize I needed a Savior and Jesus was the only one who could save me.
I was a hard case, since I had grown up in what was called a Christian church but was not. When I ran away from home at sixteen, I ran away from what I thought was real Christianity. It wasn't, like so many churches and so-called Christians today.
I also suggest you start reading the Holy Bible, asking God to open your mind to understanding the wisdom in it each time you read. That's what I did and I was amazed to discover I was truly understanding it for the first time in my life (although, I had read it many times before).
I hope this helps.
Take care,
Gayle

yes, and there are ways he can do it....in the bible he talked back verbally to some but that was not the only way. He talks to us through the bible, through the holy spirit living within us (that still small voice) through events that happen in our lives, through the actions of others.........and well this happens too....I was asked if I had prayed about a particular thing, and I was, but I had to be honest and say that I didn't stop to listen what God had to say. When you were praying did you rest quietly and listen for the answer.

How is there extra info for them than for Jesus? i'm no longer posing that as a undertaking, I in basic terms desire to verify you decrease back up your declare. And once you are going to wish before everything, it fairly is relatively faith-based, besides as your perception in a single god, somewhat God, as a result you think it fairly is God it is answering and no different gods exist EDIT Your reaction proved no longer something. Jesus additionally has his e book, his "temple" in an attempt to talk, and believers had different halves and battles, and the e book is composed of nicely ordinary legends and memories. of course you're trailing...or no longer being particular adequate. no longer just about

Yes...sometimes i forget to stop and listen though....could be a reason why you didnt hear Him when you used to pray.
Prayer must be genuine...asking God to help you kill your enemy and protect you from prosecution is an example of what not to ask for.
Try the Lord's Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven
hallowed be thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
you cant go wrong with this one...straight from Jesus

Yeah, sometimes. Usually he answers via actions or by changing the heart, but he can use words when the time is right.
For example.. I was having a bad night, my friend had just died and my husband and I weren't getting along, so I locked myself in a room and cried out to God. When I finished he said to go make some hot chocolate. We had just moved into the apartment and got our first grocery order and I knew we didn't get any hot chocolate. But I checked the cupboard anyway and sure enough there it was - a half can of Swiss Miss. I made a cup and it calmed me down so that I could get a good night's rest. Later I found out my parents left the can for me when they helped me move. I didn't know about it, but God did. He's been talking to me for about 4 years now and I know it's not me, because he's never been wrong once. :)

Yes, If you wait upon the Lord and are in tune with the holy spirit and the word of God.
I have to admit though, it kinda freaked me out the first few times.
It is not an audible voice but a spiritual voice spoken to your spirit, but you can hear his voice. It takes faith to believe and obey, but know this, It will not contradict the written word. You wont know that, if you don't test the spirits with the whole counsel of God.

God speaks to my Spirit when I pray. God sometimes uses people to answer my prayers. God is so wonderful. Why not give Him another chance. If you seek Him with all of your heart you will hear from Him.

God proved Himself to me. Jesus said that when he left he would send the Holy Spirit - who he called 'Counselor', and God counsels me when I pray, or even if I turn my heart towards Him, or even if I am not thinking about Him at the time.
What a spiritual life I lead. Thanks to God for the understanding that He has given me.
45 "It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' "
( John 6 )
EDIT: I think that I know what you are referring to. Look closely, Fast. Many of us are too full. We are dependent upon material things. You wanted spiritual things, but your fullness got in the way. So in whatever way you can, fast. Our own flesh will betray us.

Yes he has. Gods not gonna call you and start talking to you after you pray. you have to look for signs and you have to believe. Yes God answers my prayers and he speaks to me through everything.
