See a psychiatrist. This is a medical situation that needs attention. What you are doing is VERY bad for your health. If you need help quitting, please get some before you hurt yourself.

You first need to tell your parents what's wrong.
Even if you do not want to, even if you hate yourself for doing it in the end, they have the right to know and you never know they could be really helpful into getting you treatment to feel better.
Once that you should advise your parents that you want to see a nutrionist. Once you've seen the nutrionist they'll require that you see a psychologist and depending on how bad your condition is you may have to spend a few weeks in a place for people with your same condition (and some are worse). Which I know it sounds god awful and no one likes going to them but it'll help you out in the end.

People lose their lives everyday for this very same reason.
Girls trying to look like models and trying to impress people when really the only person they're trying to impress is their own outlook on themself. It's not a fashion statement, it's a disease.

And a very powerful, life consuming disease at that.

It not only hurts you- but everyone around you.

Especially those who love you.

I know– I've been one of the ones seeing someone disappear and loving them dearly and not wanting to see that happen to them but not being able to help because they didn't want to see it my way. They still saw that they were not good enough and it wasn't until she told her parents and seen the nutrionist that things started getting better. I love that girl with my heart and soul and I still do today and will tomorrow and I'm thankful I have her and will always now because she mustard the courage to say she had a problem.

Cheers. x

I am sorry you are in such a bad situation. For someone in your position it is important for you to understand why you do it. Do you feel in control when you vomit or cut? Are you angry at someone but won't or can't admit it so you hurt yourself to spite them? These may not be your situation but there are always psychological causes behind these things. In order to truly stop you will need to address these issues. Try pinpointing how you feel when you eat or what makes you want to binge and purge. These thoughts and emotins may lead you to the source of the problem.
To try and stop now what you can do for yourself is to punish yourself after vomitting. It is called negative reinforcement. For instance if you vomit twice in one day make a rule for yourself that you can't watch t.v. at night or another favorite activity. This will get rid of the positive reinforcement vomitting gives you.
No matter what happens you will need to seek the help of a psychologist and nutritionist. I would hold off on a psychiatrist because a trained cognitive behavioral therapist can solve your problem without the medicine and teach you effective coping strategies for life. You are very courageous for seeking help. Your path to recovery may be long but it is worth it in the end. Stay Strong.

first, i would go to a counselor, try a school counselor if you are too young to go/ afford one yourself. they can give you advice on how to tell your mom. i had bulimia for 5 years in my teens and in my late 20s i am seeing it's harmful affects. i have developed many food intolerances, completely shot my metabolism (so dieting is 20x more hard), and other serious issues.

bulimia will not control your weight long term and you could die. i would also suggest looking at awareness sites online, they offer a ton of information, just google it and really spend a lot of time researching the information.

you are going to need a mental health professional and the support of your family to rewire the way you feel about your food and your body.

there is also a new show supposed to be coming to A&E called "love your body naked" or something like that. maybe that would make you smile.

good luck and God bless! it's a hard struggle!

You're in real trouble. You need to get help immediately from a professional. You minimize what you're doing, but it's actually very dangerous. You can have a heart attack (yes, even at your age), or you can rot out your teeth from the acid of the vomit. Cutting is really bad, too, it means that's the only way you can feel. You're minimizing what you're doing, but it's really bad. Get some help now, and not just from friends, get professional help. Get to a doctor. You can't handle this alone.

I think eating disorders are caused mainly by poor diet.

If you're listening to the "experts" as to what a healthy diet is, you're travelling down the wrong road. The conventional notions of healthy diet in our society today are almost the opposite of what's true.

Few people today in the U.S. know how to eat in a healthful way. The most knowledgeable person I've found--and having an eating disorder myself, I've done a LOT of searching about this--is the moderator of the Yahoo group AV-Skeptics, whose name is Bruce. My advice to you is to join the group and ask his advice. I could lay it out for you here but I think that's the better way.

It is not your fault or something you can control / deal with on your own, but realizing you have a problem already puts you a step int he right sirection. These professionals will help you recover. Good luck!

Honey, that is never ever a solution to weight loss or any other problem. It is very, very dangerous, and I hope that you will consider going to the doctor to discuss your options. Please understand that chronic vomiting causes severe dehydration, incurable diseases of the digestive tract, and organ failure. People die from Bulemia on a regular basis, and some of those who don't die end up with brain damage. Please don't be a statistic...you can get well, but you have to be willing to seek medical help. Please talk to your family and take the first step to recovery. Take care and I hope you live a long, healthy life.

Bulimia is a serious eating disorder. See a doctor for more detailed help. It can increase your risk of esophogeal cancer and decrease your vitamin absorption from food so be forewarned. You can still control your weight through normal means of a good diet and exercise.
