COMMON SENSE ?

2007-12-19 17:24:37 · 9 answers · asked by Anonymous in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

Even if all our noses were rubbed in so-called scientific proof, such a belief would go against the grain of our common sense. By the same token, all dyed-in-the-wool, proud evolutionists are equally zealous in support of their brand of
truth and are unable to stomach honest-to-goodness Truth.

Common sense or far-fetched theory ?

What say you all?

Well, "common sense" will tell you that air does not exist because you can't see it. You can see the effects of wind perhaps, but that is not air. So, common sense is not so reliable.

But, you can learn about what you can't see by devising tests to see if whatever it is does exist or not. It is possible to create tests that demonstrate that air does in fact exist, can be measured, and can be shown to be comprised of a number of molecular gasses (oxygen, nitrogen, etc).

But you can't do that for the existence of god. There is no suitable test for god or the many miracles, including the alleged "miracle of your existence" via god. And you probably say god exists because of "common sense."

Clearly, this is terrible paradox for you to be entangled in. And that's the problem with common sense: it may be common but it is not especially sensible. It's simplistic believing instead of serious thinking. And it's lazy.

I prefer empirical, testable science. Faith denies facts and withers in the face of testing. Science is better, by far.

"up-from-the-slime" is way more Logical than your "some old guy in a bath robe and a beard waves his hands around then Poof! Everything is the way it is and Evolution is total BS" i think your way lacks the common sense and you "sensible folk" are brainwashed into believing in false gods and harboring false hopes.

Ugh... not you again

Organisms develop new traits as they reproduce. Those with better traits for survival reproduce more than the others, therefor passing on their traits. And that process continues on forever, giving rise to ever more complex and differentiated organisms.
Seems pretty logical to me.

And seriously, drop the "what say you all", it's so pretentious and annoying.

Okay, creationists believe Adam was made from dust, and evolutionists believe mankind can from slime.

Hmmmm, dust or slime, dust or slime......

Ah, time to ponder the mysteries of the universe!

you need to study science. evolution is a fact. also, this so called slim theory of yours is the only logical explanation. it didn't come from nothing, that's for sure. you creationists don't know a thing that you're talking about.
