It's the eternal Christmas joke; oh god, fruit cake! Gag! Yet they crank it out by the truck load every year so obviously SOMEBODY likes it. Is it just considered 'cool' to fuss about the stuff. Come on, fess up! You secretly like it, don't you?

try some Luxury cherry Genoa cake from M&S, I get some every Christmas and it beats the bog standard stuff hands down,,,,

Blah hate the stuff but I also hate sultanas raisins and currents.
It is an old persons favourite and an old fashioned Xmas cake.
So as the people get older I am sure the cake's will slowly start to become less.

I actually tried it and it is surprizeingly great tasteing Other than that a great door stop you can you use it a a puck a regift to a person you really do not like an experiment to take apart to see what is actually made of A fruite cake tiara Ha Ha Ha Ha The list is endless

I love a good fruit cake. There I admited it. Good is the key word. There is a Texas company that makes good ones. I think it's called Manor by the original yahoo baking company..

No I don't any more. I think a cement manufacturer must have shares in the icing. But stollen cake is a much better and lighter alternative, and is good with white cheeses.

No, no! :-) Nobody likes it, but they like to give it to their friends as a present. We just got given one today, lol!
P.S. I do like fruit cake if it is served with cream or custard... And my hubby does actually like fruit cake... He's Scottish. They have a tradition (at least in his family) of frying fruit cake and bacon for breakfast on Christmas morning, lol.
