I havn't seen the golden compass but all the buzz is saying he wants to kill God, so I don't even want to see it but as for harry potter I own all the books and I think I am old enough to know it's crap but just some fantasy time. Who doesn't have someone in their life they would like to turn onto a ferret with a swish of a stick? It's a joke! (sometimes) It's not real nor will it ever be, just love your Lord first and it's thats simple. Better watch out for them talking sponges that work at a fast food joint.

Golden Compass. no rating - I just think it subtly and captiously remarks too often about Christianity. And it isn't really blasphemous, I just don't think portraying opinions on religion and mass maketing them through books is an okay practice. But hey, everyone does it. :s

Who cares? They are just books and just movies. Harry Potter is about young children using magic against evil. The Golden Compass is about empowering children and the death of a FAKE God. One question is, how can Christians believe that God can die? Isn't he an all-powerul, omni-potent God who loves all? I find this whole "controversy" ridiculous.

Neither is in any way blasphemous. You should look up the meaning of blasphemy.

National Geographic dear.
Education and knowledge are the cause of religious superstitions and delusions quietly fading away, not other fairy tales...
