I'm not talking about going overboard with protein, Just talking about cutting out the carbs and replacing them with protein - EG: Tuna Salad instead of Tuna Sandwich.
Does increasing protein help supress appetite? When I exercise I seem to be hungry all of the time

Protein is the most filling nutrient, followed by fiber, and then fat. If you eat more protein, you will definitely feel more full. Hot liquids, like the broth in soup, are also unusually feeling. However cold liquids, like in smoothies or cold soups are not quite as filling, although no one knows why. An example of an extremely filling high protein, low calorie meal is bean soup. You can easily keep cans of beans and a high quality chicken stock base like "Better than Boullion" on hand to make it whenever you want. Adding a tiny amount of oil will make it even more filling.

If you exercise a lot you are going to be hungry no matter what you eat. When you exercise, your hunger increases and so your appetite increases. A low carbohydrate diet is a good idea. Your diet should be high protein, medium fat and low carbohydrate. Many people think that a low fat diet is a good idea, but they are wrong. The mitochondria in the body needs fat to burn calories. A low fat diet gives you a suboptimal metabolism. Also, fat causes satiation. But, overall, you need to cut some calories. Read the book Good Calories Bad Calories by Gary Taubes.

Protein is less easily converted into fat than carbohydrates. Therefore, if you replace your carbs with protein, you are more likely to burn more fat. Also protein can help protein synthesis for muscle growth or hypertrophy in conjunction with resistance training. More lean muscle will burn more calories. Protein does not necessarily suppress appetite. High fiber foods help you make you feel more full though.

Getting sufficient protein is important but if you're hungry all the time you're problem is probably insufficient fat intake. Unfortunately the modern conventional ideas about fats in the diet, which advocate low-fat diet and say that saturated fats are unhealthy, are the opposite of what's true. In addition to keeping your carb levels low (around 75 g a day is pretty safe), you need to eat lots of saturated fats and minimize polyunsaturates.

P.S. High fat does not create body fat unless you are eating too much and/or the wrong kind of carbs.

i think so! but then again i also started to drink a lot more water, but i did this and it made me feel sooooo much better. i lost a lot of weight and had a lot more energy, but your body still needs carbs, just make them the healthy kind and keep them in moderation. people say high protein diets are bad if you are constantly eating fatty proteins, just make sure you are making healthy decisions about what you put in your mouth. drink plenty of water if you are exercising because you might be mistaking thirst for hunger.
