The more megapixels in the camera, the better the quality of the picture right??

Just out of curiousity and for peace of mind

Yes. The majority of consumer cameras right now is around 5 MP. More advanced ones for people who are into photography get into the 8-10 MP range. I've seen professional cameras that are in the 25-30 MP range.

Not always. The size of the sensor has to be considered. Go to shutterbug.com and do a Search for "pros and cons of pixel packing" which was in the Nov. 2007 issue of Shutterbug Magazine.

yes, means you can blow up a picture up to a poster size if you have more megapixels. Thats why cell phome pics are wack, low pixels

No,thats not 100% correct.Image quality depends on the size of the censor also.

yes, you will be able to crop and edit the picture without getting that grainy look the higher your megapixels are.

I agree with Edwin. "More is better" is just a simplistic answer for newbies. The truth is a lot trickier.
