No. It is not okay to lie because it's manipulating someone. By the same token you should be allowed to tell someone it's none of their business if you don't feel you can tell the truth. The main thing is to treat people fairly and with respect and integrity. Your word is your word. It means something.

I hate to lie. And I hate being lied to even more. I see it like why lie about something, if you don't want to tell someone the truth about something just say you don't want to and won't tell them... whats wrong with that. I always say if I do/ did something obviously i wanted to do it at the time ... there's nothing I cant owe up to.Why would I lie about anything. I have a sister in law who used to always lie, for no reason at all. Even though its been years since I've caught her in a lie I still never believe a word out of her mouth.

I can't sit here and pretend I've never told a lie..... When I lost my virginity I lied about it to my mom, but because I'm not a natural lyer she knew I was lying. Maybe I don't like it cause I'm not good at it. lol really, I don't lie too often... I can't remember telling a lie any other time , I'm sure I have everyone does at some point or another. O I lie to my kids and tell them Santa's real. So I guess that would be kinda hypocritical of me.

It is not okay to lie, as the main rule. There are exceptions to that.

Usually, if you are lying for a selfish reason, then it is wrong (notice I say usually not always).

If, however, I was giving you a surprise party, I might lie and say that I have no plans, or in some other way, deceive you, because that is the point of the surprise. That would be considered okay by almost everyone.

Lying in order to not get caught for robbing a bank, however, would fall pretty far into the realm of wrong.

The times when it is considered okay to lie or not lie changes in society, just like fashion does.

No. There is an old saying and it is quite true " oh what webs we do weave, when we practise to deceive". You tell lies and then you can't remember what you said, then you tell another one to cover up and it turns into a viscious circle. If telling the truth is going to hurt someone then telling part of the truth and leaving out a bit, lets someone draw their own conclusions without you having to tell it all. Then at least you haven't lied , you just didn't tell the whole story and since you told the truth... we tend to never forget the truth so it won't come back later and bite you.

we all have lied in one form or another. Is it right, well no.
should we lie??Well, no!!!
Is one form of lying more wrong than another?? No, for there is no difference between telling half-truth,1/4 truth, 1/8 truth or 99% of the truth. For 99%of a truth,is nothing more than a 100% lie. For it is far better to tell the truth and be hated, than to be loved for being a liar!!!!

Honesty is best Policy. But helping other to tell alie is not lie. These two proverb said by our ancestors that means both are necessary for life. Both run along side by side. Ucan't neglect one of them. But u say that Lying became neccesary ingredints of human life. U can't tell predict a one name who never speaks lie today

No lying is not OK, and honesty is always best, otherwise, you'll end up compounding the lies to the point where even you can't distinguish reality, or keep up with them anymore. I'm not saying to be brutally honest, if someone asks you perhaps how their outfit looks, and you don't really like it, you can just say, wow, that's really something.

Honesty is certainly better than lying, however there are times when omission, avoidance or partial truths are a better idea than the whole truth. We don't really need to know our partner's sexual past. "Do I look fat in this" is answered much more tactfully by "I like the other dress better" than "Ah, yeah you do." There's no need to offend people if it can be avoided.

If u Walk on the honest path, it is aways harder but if u complete it, you are the happier person. Lying is bad, because if u lie one time than u have to keep lying to hide it, i think lying is bad being honest is much better.

Its o.k. if you are trying to make someone feel better, i. e. someone is deathly sick and says "how do I look?"

Lying to gain something is wrong or lying about cheating, this is especially bad since your lie could cost someone their life,i.e. AIDS.

So the answers is yes, in some cases and no in others.
