I would use this as a red flag. Try and find out what is wrong. Perhaps you should try and find her a new teacher. Whatever you do, you should validate her feelings so she knows you believe her. She should not be afraid, and if the teacher isn't doing everything in her power to get to the bottom of the problem you should find a safe environment for her.

A teacher shouldn't be scolding a 6 year old for giving a wrong answer. You need to take a close look at this teacher's methods.

she's scared for a reason...some teachers shouldn't be teachers...I sat in on my sons class and he seemed to be fine...then the next day...she told him he couldn't use the restroom...he had an accident needless to say...he also had surgery the week b4 for a hernia repair...so when I got the call..I was pissed..went to the school...moved him to another class and filed a report with the school board..she was suspended from teaching for a short time...pay close attention to what your daughter is telling you...don't push it aside or assume it's just your daughter not liking the teacher...talk to the teacher about her Scolding methods..if you feel she is to hard...let her know to tone it down...be fully involved with this teacher and make her aware that you're concerned and not going to just step aside so she can do her job....have the eyes of a Hawk on her...good luck to you and I hope you get to the root of the problem...if you're able to do this...then without calling the school or teacher...just pop up and go to her class...as you would do to a daycare center...don't worry if the school or teacher gets upset that being or becoming a pain...you're only concern is for your child and how she's being treated

I think the only way you can solve this is to talk to the teacher and make her aware of whats going on so the two of them can have a talk to make things better. But before that ask you daughter some questions to make sure something serious hasnt happend.

What is it about this teacher that makes her so scared? Really, you should ask her because the teacher is probably raising her voice and being mean.

I suggest you have a conference with your child's teacher. As a retired teacher, and now a substitute teacher, I can tell you teachers do not want to "scare" their students.

The teacher sounds totally unsuitable for your child. Ask if she can change teachers. If not, you could consider homeschooling for a few months.
