I'm about to send an e-mail to a guy I haven't talked to in months. Does this sound right? What do I need to change, if anything.

Hey you!

I was just thinking about you the other day. I haven't talked to you in such a long time and I just wanted to see how you are doing.

I'm going back to school, but besides that nothing real major.
Anyways, I really hope every things going good for you and maybe I'll talk to you later.

Happy Holidays

What do you think?

Yeah that sounds good, casual yet still caring, but it doesnt seem to full on. Try not to use 'you' to much, re-read it though out loud and see how you can replace that word. Otherwise its good!!

Change it up a little. Don't use the word "you" so much. Also, does he mean anything to you, or just a casual friend? If he's just a friend, an update is cool.

"I was thinking about you the other day. We haven't spoke in forever, and I'm wondering how your life is going...." etc...

Take it the other way around. Act as if you're the person who will be taking the mail. Compose it and mail it. good luck ti you and Merry Christmas.

I have to agree with Windy, "you" is used entirely too much.
